Well just looking for suggestions for a modern car for myself.

I am looking for something automatic, diesel 2.0 max, comfortable and newer than 2010

Price wise im not too sure, but a good deal and maybe part finance the car

To give an idea the cars i like the looks of are the likes of

    Citroen c5 (but not a 508)
    Octavia / superb
    Passat, golf
    Audi a6 or a8
    Insignia

But not a fords, nissans, renualts dacias kia or hyandai

Extras are important to me so the more toys the better,

Will go to UK if worth it

    All suggestions welcome thanks!

Genuine question why you have discounted the vehicles above because you've included vehicles there with worse reputation.

    Mazda 6 ?

It's a 2.2 diesel so over your 2ltr wish but not a lot of difference in fairness

That would be a runner alright

I wouldn't touch one of those Mazda diesel engines, plenty of information about them and their disasters out there. Mazda make good petrol engines but their own diesels are a disaster. Don't think they sold them in automatic either until recently.

I've had one 3 yrs now. 2010 2.2 diesel. DPF regenerated once but that's all. Car has skipped a beat.

All cars have problems. Mazda's old 2ltr wasn't good but the 2.2ltr isn't a bad engine.

Auto diesels on the new model from 2013 I believe.

Probably be my next car. That or a Mondeo auto diesel.

I've owned 2 BMWs with N47 engines (infamous timing chain problems) and had no trouble with either. Plenty of people were not so lucky though and had to replace their timing chains so just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't mean it doesn't happen. You pay your money and take your chances.

    Volvo S80?

Nice car also, i do like

What are the best ways to go about a car like one of these from about 2013 - 2014 re part financing etc ?

Are there dealers with good examples ?

How you pay for the car is really down to you and your circumstances so nobody where can advise you on that. It's really down to what you are comfortable with.

Regarding the Volvo, have a look at the S60 too, it's more modern than the S80 and feels a bit more youthful if you know what I mean. Obviously it's a bit smaller than the S80 and probably not as comfy but they are still a good car. The 2.4 5 cylinder D5 would be the pick of the bunch but the smaller 2.0 D3 with the 5 cylinder engine also a gem too. Later models came with the 2.0 D3 and D4 4 cylinder engines too which have decent levels of torque making them feel quite lively. The 1.6 D2 is a bit pointless.

    Just one example:

I actually quite like the looks of that !

I said 2.0 or under for tax reasons and maybe insurance but i just remembered its based on emissions now so i shouldnt have said that !

Never thought of a 159 but i like the looks of that....

Make sure to do proper background history checks on it. The Superb is a popular choice among taxi/hackney drivers and the rear seats on that example have a nice bit of wear on them so I'd be making sure that mileage is accurate. Seller also has a similar Kia Optima for sale so is bit of a part time dealer of some sorts.

Yeah im a bit skeptical about that, i can't seem to find any history through DVLA for mot etc on that.

It seems rather cheap too compared to others.

NI MOT is a different system so won't be recorded on the DVLA MOT checker site.

I have a C5 and I'm fond of it. Love the dashboard on it and general interior seems well put together, comfortable and lots of buttons (I like buttons).
