I'm getting a new car next week, a 131 Ford Fiesta valued at 12000 so not brand new. When buying the car will I have to pay a deposit or can I just pay monthly over 3 years( I'll be using their finance)? I'll be hoping to trade in my current 2004 vw polo.

Off topic, but see what you'd get a new one for.
The polo could serve as your deposit in this case. You'd probably be doing hire purchase.

12k for a 4 year old fiesta is bonkers. You can get a new fiesta zetec for €14000

    I can't afford a new one

    I can't afford a new one

    See edited post above.

The 131 will be 7 years old by the time the finance ends.

I know but wouldn't be able to afford the final balloon payment at the end for a brand new car that's why I'm getting a used one.

You don't always have to pay a balloon payment. There are other options than PCP.

Here's an example. HP. Do the rough figures

131 fiesta isn't worth more than €9500 IMO.

A new one on 4 years would be roughly the same as that particular 131 over 3 years. (Cheaper in fact)

OP, your paying too much for a 131 Fiesta, here is a 152 from a Ford dealer for similar money:

My wife bought a mint four year old fiesta in a ford main dealers last year for €8,000.

€12k for a 131 is off the chart. Make sure you are happy with the deal before you sign up for anything. There has to be better value out there.
