Can anyone tell me if the chaise of the 2011 model Ford C Max is the same as the 2012 model?

    The what?

    Ok, Chassis.

There's 2 generations of c max, the first one that came out around 2004 based on the mk2 focus, then the new model that came out in 2011 based on the current mk3 focus.
I'm not sure that there are any old model 2011 c maxes around. but they look very different to each other.
The old one has long narrow high level rear lights, and the current model has them under the window, similar to a mondeo.

Do you think it might be chassis?

I thought he meant the seats, chaise is french for chair. And i didn't think English was the op's first language based on their username.

Yes chassis, my mistake. I'm proof that not all Irish people can spell. The reason I am asking is that my daughter needs a new car seat. The one we are looking at was safety tested on the 2012 CHASSIS but if the 2011 is the same, the testing results would apply. I couldn't tell you if is early or late 2011.

Grand Cmax, which is older than the newer Cmax, but also different.

    Make sense?
    It's the newer 2011 model.

Some countries like America call a model that came out in 2011 the 2012 model

In short, the model Ford were selling in 2011 is the same model that Ford were selling in 2012 and therefore the chassis's are the same.

To the best of my knowledge, yes.
If your main concern is safety, rather than if it will fit, then you have nothing to worry about.

One problem solved, another one has popped up. We have the C Max for two months and didn't realise there was underfloor storage in it. Turns out the storage space needs to be filled with a foam floor filler in order for the child's car seat to function safely.

Anyone know anything about these and can I get them anywhere other than a Ford garage?

    What seats are you using?

Bought a Cybex Sirona today but also have a Maxi Cosi Cabreofix on a 2way fix isofix base. Using both rear facing.

Will the leg reach down to the inner floor of the cubby hole?

Didn't get a chance to try. The car seat sales attendant advised the liner so I was going on her advice first.

From what I can gather, the wisdom was to use the foam, then to extend the left to the bottom floor, to ford not recommending any seats to be fitted at all.

Bottom line is the leg needs something reasonably solid to sit on. An empty cubby hole using just the false floor for support mightn't be strong enough in a crash hence the foam. If you had no cubbys it would just be sitting on the real floor.

I see the logic filling the recess or removing the cover. Will have to look into it tomorrow. I didn't know anything about the filler until I looked into it yesterday. Would have thought the actual floor would be safer, if the leg reaches. Just thought it would be foolish not to at least look into what was recommended.
