As you cast your eye over the racing crowd and see a 20 something year old in a blue suit and brown shoes, you think to yourself "That's the kind of guy that'd have a fiver each way on a 4/7 shot".

No one wears a suit to Cheltenham.

    Problem solved

Does anyone know where I can get a three piece suit to rent for the races?

For a few bob extra you'd buy a good one in the sales.

You won't look out of place at Cheltenham without a suit. It's a National Hunt meeting after all.

You'd be better posting in the Dublin forum for this.

Surprised to see so many thanks for the above. What a wa*ker thing to say.
This is what is wrong with racing and getting more people involved.
Also thought the snobbery and in house jargon was more reserved for the flat racing. Your the kinda guy I hate so bump into at a race meeting.

Regards suits, Bertoni in Stephens Green are great and very helpful too.

    Bertoni Neon, Talbot street.

Also take a walk around arnotts dept store.
Just dont be afraid to ask for assistance regards sizes etc. When I was younger I didnt and bought some very bad suits that didnt fit me.

IF your wearing a suit, you'll need a decent coat as there is no guarantee of not getting miserable and wet/cold.

I tried the suit jacket thing a couple of times and was sorry by the time racing is over even on the best days its too cold. Of course on a good day when a big priced one is landed i could walk back in shorts a tee shirt and it wouldn't matter.
