Would this show you have many of a particular model are currently registered ? Or is it just how many were registered in that time frame ?

You can also see new registrations of used imports in 2016 here: http://www.beepbeep.ie/stats/?sYear%5B%5D=2016&sYear%5B%5D=&sRegType=4&sMonth%5B%5D=&sMonth%5B%5D=&x=30&y=11

Certainly an eclectic mix in there at the lower numbers: From the boy racer staples (Levin/Trueno, Integra, etc.), classics (2CV, Volvo 240, Cortina, Mercedes 190, Saab 99), potential future classics (VW Phaeton, Citroen C6, Xantia... maybe?), some nice old auto****e (Carina, Sunny, Skoda Felicia, Ford Orion) to some awful muck that I really can't explain: Hyundai Trajet, Mitsubishi Carisma, Suzuki Liana, Ssangyong Rexton - who went through the effort of importing these?

Yes I guess that's the only explanation as they would be VRT exempt - but some of them don't sound like they were worth the ferry trip...

Always surprised to see mundane family cars from further afield registered in Ireland - there's a Toyota Highlander (from the US) that I often see in Cork city, and I used to see an Australian-spec E110 Corolla (1.8 petrol of course :) ) in Limerick. They would have cost thousands to ship over here but I'm sure they had their reasons (probably were fairly new cars at the time they moved).
