    Hi People,

Just wondering if anyone has had recently experience with Stanley Erin HPB stove's.

I believe they are now cast and assembled in China. And I have heard they are not as good as they used to be. Quality issues etc

I believe the Erin was a great work horse of a stove and was thinking if buying a new one.

Stoves are like hammers, if the steel composition or the manufacturing process is dodgy it's going to show up pretty soon, i.e. within warranty.

If you are worried then things like using a qualified installer, who gives you a receipt for the work done, making sure you keep the warranty details from the stove retailer / manufacturer will protect you and prevent rows with insurance companies if something bad does happen.

Remember, if you end taking a tradesman to court over a dodgy installation and it was done under the counter / 'for cash' the judge will probably give you an earful and send you packing, the judiciary will not allow you to use contract law to support you breaking other laws.
