Toyota Avensis - 2005 - wing mirror

    Hi All,

I couldn't find a thread on repairs for Toyota Avensis cars, so I was hoping someone could advise.

I was driving down a narrow country road this morning and someone clipped my wing mirror on the driver's side.

From what I can see, there isnt too much damage. The mirror itself shattered and fell out, but the rest of the mirror seems ok. At a first glance, the wiring seems ok, but the part that holds the mirror in place is hanging loose.

It is a 2005 Toyota Avensis. Does anyone have an idea of how costly this would be to repair? Or is it an easy enough job to fix yourself? Would it have to be a Toyota mirror, or could I pick up a spare in Halfords, or some car shop?

    Thanks, M.

If what the mirror sits on is broken pick up a 2nd hand mirror pre 2006, swap the back cover and refit. Expect roughly €40 onwards for a complete mirror
