Do I Need a New Cylinder ????

My heating currently consists of a gas boiler and solid fuel stove with back boiler. I have the Systemlink Heat Genie connecting the two together.

I am now getting quotes on upgrading the gas boiler and splitting the heating into two zones, hot water and rads.

I have had four people out to price the job and one of them has told me I will need a new dual coil cyclinder so that the hot water circuit from the stove works safely.

I told him I was under the presumption that the Heat Genie done away with the need to change the cyclinder but he replied "On your current system that's fine because you have no way of shutting off the circulation to your coil. but when the system gets zoned you will have a zone valve on the flow to the cylinder and when that zone is off on the programmer you won't have any circulation from the stove to the hot water cylinder"

Can anyone enlighten me as, out of the four people who looked at the job, he is the only one that has highlighted this. One of the other plumbers even specifically sent out his stove specialist a second day to have a look and this issue was never mentioned.

    Thanks
