I just hope the government don't do their usual trick of giving us a Hobson's choice and only give us the choice of (a) leave it as is or (b) replace it with this incredibly clumsily drafted bit of nonsense.

I'd vote yes or maybe not vote at all (the matter being more likely, its greatly polarising). I support it and the No side would have you believe I am a murderer for doing so but I disagree, I'm merely supporting the removal of an Amendment to BNE so those who need an abortion can have one.

Same as before I suspect but we'll never know, as the poll results are hidden.

Where's the option for miniature Irish flags?

Exactly, the vast majority on here are people in their 20s, 30s and 40s, the biggest group on here is young males, so any poll is going to be highly skewed in favour of repealing the amendment.

The actual referendum when it happens will be a lot closer, although I think Yes will scrape it.

I definitely support Repealing the 8th as it will remove a lot of ambiguity for doctors and healthcare of pregnant women. That to me is a #1 priority. Pregnant women should not have their rights taken away simply because they're pregnant.

In principle, I also support the introduction of legislation to allow for abortion. However, it's a emotional and tricky subject, and while I support it in principle, I will have to wait to see what exactly is being proposed before I have a definite opinion

I think thats exactly what they are going to try to do. Ive already heard Enda say several times that if we repeal the 8th out of the Constitution "what will go in instead of it". Nothing should go in instead of it and the TDs should do their job and legislate in the Dail for when abortion may be permitted.

If the referendum proceeds on the basis of putting something into the Constitution instead of the 8th then I can see it being defeated. There are a majority of people who know the 8th doesnt work but there isnt a majority of people in agreement about what should replace it in the Constitution. And the problems is the politicians are so spineless that they dont want to legislate for it themselves, the last 30 years has proved that beyond any doubt.

why are the results hidden? Is there going to be a big reveal?

That's the problem. The constitution isn't the place for this kind of legislation. If it's replaced then we'll probably find more unusual cases that clash with it.

I'll vote to Repeal, if we ever get the chance to do so.

However I would hope proper legislation is put in place......I really don't like the idea of abortion on demand, that it would become just another form of contraception.

Can we have a poll to ban all abortion talk from After Hours?

I preferred it when after hours was less serious...
