Does circulation pump affect timer function?

Have a Firebird-s boiler. Over the weekend it was causing the main fuse to trip, plumber came and had a look at it and installed a new circulation pump, a Tucson A.

However, after he left the heating remained "on" even though it was on timed and should have turned itself off. Manually turned it off and back on, and to timed, and switched the pump to auto, and this morning it seems to have turned on at the right time, and turned off.

But just heard it humming again there, at a time when it should have been off. Is that normal or was our timer function affected by the change in pump?
