    Nct Failed emissions today

Low idle co 0.22% - above 30% is a fail so it passed this

High idle was co 23% - above 20% is a fail so failed on this - RPM was 3030 on this?is this high?
Lambda was 1.00 so passed on this also

Oil temp was 108c (centre is 15 min away from me so was driving hard)

    Any ideas on this thanks

It's not a huge lot out, I'd dry a some Reddex mixed with the fuel and drive it at high revs to see if that fixes it. The RPM is normal, they run the test at 3000rpm.

Have you noticed the car burning any oil?

    Change the air filter.
Dump a whole bottle of Dipetane in the fuel tank and drive it hard for the next week, then go to a mechanic that can measure emissions and check.

It's such a small amount over, I'm sure the dipetane would do the trick. I put a full bottle into a quarter of a tank, and drove it for 2 days to let it do its job.

Just a quarter of a tank? is that the best thing to do was gonna do half a tank

It won't matter much, using a quarter tank will increase the ratio.

To be honest I got conflicting information from different Mechanic on this. I was way over the 20, I think it was nearly 40, so it was a good result for me. Cataclean was what I used, not dipetane. The lads in GSF advised it.

Cat music be on the way out if that didn't sort it? Try and get diagnostics on it, check live readings from the emissions system.

Have my last NCT report in my hand now and had a look regarding High Idle and it states its a failure if the CO is above 30% not 20% so dont know how you were failed at 23%.

Just an update on this lads for people in same situation.

    1st Test was Co.0.23
2nd Test was Co.0.26 With a BG fuel additive(thought they would all be the same thing)Not!
3rd Test I got a bottle of Dipetane yesterday and about two hours of motorway driving and booked it in...PASSED with Co.0.16.

Now i have a question... for them 1st two tests the limit was Co.20 and for the 3rd test the limit was Co.30 why is that?As it would have passed the 1st time if that was the case.
