    I am upgrading from a Canon 1100d.

My budget is allowing me a second hand 7d mk1, one with 10k clicks and one with 15k clicks and they are under the €500 mark slightly

Slightly outside my budget is a used 7Dmkii at €1199.

Its a big upgrade from 1100d to 7d but is worth the extra for mkii.
I use it for landscape, macro and recently interests in astro photography.

1100d looses out big time at astro photography.

If astro is your game then it'll be all about a low light comparison between both sensors.

The 7D mk1 is older than then 1100D so you may not see that much of an image quality increase even though there is a megapixel increase. Depending on what lens you already have you should be able to pick up a decent 6D for about €1000-€1200. It would beat the others when It comes to low light.

Yeah, I'd go with a 6D way before a 7 series if you're looking at landscape, macro and astro. If you're set on a 7d then the Mark ii is streets ahead imho.

Cheers.. Its outside the budget but I could wait.

I see a 60d for a bit cheaper too and that has the articulated screen. it gets decent reports for astro stuff as well.
I would look my main kit lens with the 6d as its efs but I know I should go that way and probably will in the end.
