    Hi,

I just want to ask for advice/ start a discussion regarding this.

A well known online news papers social media account on Facebook frequently runs competitions for vouchers, mobiles, holidays etc from their account in conjunction with other companies or solely by themselves.

Iv scrolled through all their previous competitions where they say they will announce the winner that night....in all of these contests they never announce a winner.

They state that the contest is not associated with Facebook etc so I'm not sure reporting it to facebook will make a difference.

I've also contacted then numerous times about it but they never responded.

Are they allowed do this or is there something I can do to stop them fooling people for likes and share?

Please note that do publish many news articles but the issue is regarding the contests

Do regulations apply to competitions where you do not have to pay to enter or buy any product or even pay for a phonecall or a stamp?

They're probably taking quite a liberal interpretation of the gaming regulations...

I guess it couldn't be construed as fraud, if you don't have to pay money to enter, but it should still be exposed for the dishonesty that it is (if they really aren't awarding the prizes).

I know the one you are on about, had to unfollow the page in the end as the amount of their "competitions" showing up on my newsfeed from people entering was just plain irritating. Not sure anything can be done!
