    Hello,

    I've a 2008 e90 (318).

The headlights are okish, but the dipped lights are just cack.

Can the dipped lights be upgraded through better bulbs? Or do I need to change the light units to get a better light?

Edited - sorry, thought I was posting this in the DIY thread

    Upgrade the H7 bulbs maybe.
Have you got an LCI or Pre-LCI version?

Edit - (actually doesn't make much of a difference other than the Angel Eyes)

    Honestly, no idea.

Is it just a matter of better bulbs? Any recommendations?

Yes, you have little other choice I'm afraid.
You could try a xenon retrofit but you need headlights, washers, self leveling and some coding to make them work.

Buy a set of Osram Nightbreakers Unlimited. They are much better than regular halogen bulbs imo. BMW regular halogen headlights are piss poor.

They've updated these recently I believe and I think they are called Nightbreaker Laser

Either are a cracking bulb, you'll definitely notice it. I did a set on a Yaris and have it head to head with another Yaris, and the difference is actually quite something. Very crisp, great light. Probably the cheapest and first mod anyone should do on their car.

Hope they last longer than the original Night Breakers which had a very short life span. Changing a bulb on the E90 is right PITA too as you have to go through the wheel arch.
