Eflow automatic plate recognition?

    bumping an old thread.

    is there any way to just sign up somewhere with my license plate number and credit card and let the machines recognise the number and take payment? why do i need a physical tag in 2017?

    Yes there is. Go to eFlow.ie and select Sign Up -> Personal Account -> Video Account. Give them your reg plate and card details and away you go. Trips on the M50 on a video account cost 50c less than the cash amount but there's no monthly fee.

    The other option is to sign up for a tag account which uses a physical tag. If you do that, you get €1 off the cash price for each trip but you pay €1.23 per month in rental for the tag.

    Detecting the physical tag is close to 100% reliable but ANPR will always require human intervention if your reg is dirty or illegible. This probably explains why the tag account is cheaper per trip.

    The video account only works on the M50. It is also slightly higher compared to the tag when used on the M50 but still cheaper than if you are not registered.

    Fees for using the M50 are as follows,
    Tags : €2.10
    Video Account : €2.60
    Unregistered : €3.10

    Also to note with the tags you have an additional maintenance fee of €1.23 per month, while you don't have any maintenance fee for the video accounts.
