The Electric broadband option uses the ESB Network's SIRO FTTH service, while the the Ultrafast 150 option uses the Eir network's FTTH service.

Technically they should deliver the same speed for that 150Mbps package, however, you will only be able to avail of whatever FTTH service is available at your home.

    Pricing is very strange:
    SIRO 150/30Mb is 45 vs Eir 150/30Mb is 55
    SIRO 350/70Mb is 55 vs Eir 300/50Mb is 65

But then the 1Gb prices are:
    SIRO 1000/200Mb is 85 vs Eir 1000/100Mb is 75.

Looks like you are paying a higher premium for the upload on SIRO for the 1Gb products but the lower bandwidth products are cheaper on SIRO.

Eir are using their own transit, others are purchasing it. That way eir don't weight much for speeds but do for general op costs.

Eir also provide support all night now, everone else closes after 6/8. A large expense.

    They're based on wholesale prices

Not sure if I've confused this by saying Eir, I should probably have said OpenEir. Prices are Digiweb using SIRO FTTH vs OpenEir FTTH. So transit prices and call centre costs don't apply here. It's more about the wholesale prices, but no way to know what SIRO are charging here that I know of?

If I'm reading correctly you've compared WS and retail? Not really a fair table is it then?

No, all that is being compared is what Digiweb are charging their customers for FTTH via SIRO and FTTH via OpenEir.

So it's 1 retailer service provider offering their service over 2 different wholesale networks!!

Don't forget availability. The "Electric" is only available in Dundalk (and possibly Letterkenny and Drogheda by now).

The "Ultrafast" is available in a lot more places (but still only a tiny percentage of the country).
