Hi, my handbrake isn't working, I adjusted it to the last but I think it's a bigger issue. The part on the rear caliper doesn't seem to be returning when released. Do I need to change the whole caliper or would it be as simple as the cable overstretched ?

Sounds like the handbrake mechanism has sized on the caliper. If you can get at it, its possible to be worked free with a bit of wd40 and a pliers.

So the mechanism in the rear doesn't move when brake is released? Did you check spring and tension? Maybe remove cable and try it by hand.

Car was unused for last while, changed cable and till not right, mechanism is returning, was in for nct today and failed on 95% imbalance !
