Maternity wear?!

I'm looking for nice affordable maternity wear and can't find anything! I went to Liffey Valley today and they obviously believe pregnant women don't need clothes! I was fuming, trying to find something nice and dressy for a party Saturday night and there wasn't a single dress. I went to New Look, H&M, M&S, Next ect. A single rail is all they had which consisted of mostly work tops and trousers. Where do you shop for maternity clothes? Have they a better selection in town? What shops should I be looking in?! Thanks.

My GF has the same problem, she got some nice stuff from Topshop, you can order from Top Shop online too and return to brick and mortar stores for refund if they don't fit. But in general it's ridiculously hard to find and a great business opportunity for somebody

Thanks for your reply. I actually ordered a couple of dresses online last Sunday but it doesn't look like they will arrive on time so I'm looking for something in the shops. I was only saying to my husband last week that if someone opened up a maternity store with high street prices, they would make a fortune! There is absolutely nothing out there. I refuse to spend a lot of money on day to day outfits that I'll only wear for a few months.

I found it hard to get stuff when I was pregnant not so long ago! I ended up only buying a few different coloured pairs of maternity jeans from both New Look and Next. I got a couple of tops off the new look website, but in general I ended up buying a lot of very loose long tops in Penneys! Asos do a good range and go on the new look website as they do more online than they carry in store. Don't buy too much maternity, as I said I managed with a lot from Penneys. Just buy a size or two up if necessary.

You could try Evans, on Henry St.

Officially it is for Plus-Size but they go from size 14 up, cut for roomy comfort, and some of the dresses are very suitable for dressy-up.

Probably not much use if you need something in a rush but I remember getting lovely tops & dresses from bumps & babies online store a few years back. Found the mama luscious brand to be affordable and long lasting
A little of stores in theory when you Goggle them do maternity leave but in reality what's on the ground vs online is fairly thin on the ground. I attended CUMH and in spite of a shopping centre directly across the road there wasn't and I believe still isn't ONE maternity clothes shop in the centre - talk about a missed opportunity!!

Maternity clothes always seem to be an issue. I have two girls 3.5 and 6 months and there was no improvement from the state of the shops on either pregnancy!

This time round I actually bought a lot of normal clothes that were a bit flowy forgiving etc I found Zara brilliant for this, a lot of their dress and tops are that kind of boho style. I also bought jackets, cardigans and oversized tshirts in my own size, wore them open etc and I was able to wear them after giving birth. I was pregnant at the same time as Pippa o Connor both times and found her great for inspiration, she has a few blog posts on it.

I didn't find the stores in Dublin City any better than the shopping centres. Got lucky once or twice in H&M Stephens green but really the selection was just piddly. Most of the maternity stuff I bought was online.

Hi, I know the party is over but if you advise how far along you are and size pre maternity might be able to advise more for you? I got a dress pippa I connor wore for a wedding I was going to. http://www.shemazing.net/so-this-is-how-pippa-oconnor-does-eight-months-pregnant/
Closet dress also bought had sort of ruching at tummy. Asks do free delivery and returns. Love top shop maternity jeans Leigh and Jamie. Even wore til the end of pregnancy. And would usually prefer over bump at end of pregnancy but these actually were comfy and stayed up!
