Hi....had a problem with misfiring on a Modus...replaced plugs & coil pack. It ran fine for a while but the leads from coil pack keep popping off when driving & I have to keep putting them back !
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks Ger.

Are you happy that youre pushing them all the way on and they are seated correctly??
    If yes,then new leads maybe??
Or as a ghetto cheap fix, use a cable tie around each boot.

    Hi...thanks for reply !
    I think they're pushed on ok.....getting a new coil pack tomorrow...fingers crossed !!
If that doesn't work, cable tie or some other fix might be worth a go.
I'm wondering if there's something causing a build up of pressure getting past the plug & pushing them up,,,maybe a damaged seal but its happening on at least 3 leads so I'm inclined to rule that out ? I'm not a professional mechanic & I've asked around but nothing definite yet !!
Someone mentioned that the plugs may have been over tightened but I've changed a lot of plugs so I'm ruling that out but you never know !!
Cheers & thanks for suggestions !

Update : replaced coil pack ....all is OK !!!
Strange...the new coil pack leads seem a bit looser but they're staying on.

I even tried jamming something in the holes to keep the leads in but they still popped out !!

Maybe a "monday morning " coil pack !!!

    Thanks.

    What brand are the leads/coils?

Hi Colm.....the first ones which didn't work were BBT.......the good ones were by Standard.

I returned the dud ones but I haven't got a report back yet !!

    Rgds.
