On the way back from the dentist this morning, I spotted what looked like a small flock of Brent geese in the Benildus college playing fields (Kilmacud, Dublin). I thought these birds where coastal and estuarine loving birds. Was I mistaken? I checked the bird watch ireland website and i'd be 90% certain they where brents.

They move out onto grass as the Winter progresses. They fly inland to sites all over Dublin.

Yes. The ones with the slight stripping on their backs are juveniles.
