Flexible Soil Pipe used outdoors?

    Hi,

2 years ago, I got a new bathroom fixed by a plumber. As part of the installation, he replaced part of the existing outdoor soil pipe with a flexi pipe (I didnt request it but i thought nothing of it at the time). Now, the flexi pipe is leaking "water" anytime we flush the toilet..

I'm wondering if flexi pipes are suitable for outdoor use? The material looks too fragile to be able to adhere to ice, frost, etc. I'm guessing that they are only suitable for indoor use and the plumber was being lazy..

    Cheers

I posted a photo of one of these with a hole in it a few weeks back. A rat had eaten its way though it so now if anyone asks I suggest that they shouldn't be used downstairs at all.

Imo the plastic isn't heavy enough for outdoor use. It would perish too easily.

Looks like he used that because he had some in the van and was too mean to replace it with the correct black pipe. (Mind you, maybe he though he was saving you money by not buying a full length of black pipe to use only a couple of feet)

It looks fairly sh1te too, mind you. No pun intended.

Have you a pic a bit farther back. It might show the overall run of the pipe a bit better.
There is a lot of odd runs there

Was your plumber a fan of Garth Brooks by any chance.... Yeeee Haaaw :pac:

It needs to be pulled out of it and redone again, but properly this time. What he used is the flexible connection that goes between the toilet and the sewer pipe in the bathroom. Not for outdoor use.

I think he took a handy way out. Was easy for him to fit

Thanks for the advise. I'm going to get the flexi-pipe replaced with a proper black pipe. I won't be going near that cowboy plumber again..
