    Howdy all,

Heading off on a family holiday with the in-laws this coming weekend, staying in Salthill... any suggestions for things to do/things on this weekend/places nearby to head to (we'll have cars)... there's two kids 11/12 that need to be entertained too!

    Thanks, much obliged!

In salthill - Galway Skates ice skating in leisureland. Open until Sunday 8th late afternoon. Leisureland swimming pool. Aquarium in salthill too.

In Galway city-outside st Nicholas church market on Saturday morning. Shopping and free museum in city centre (museum at Spanish arch). Walk to claddagh for swans and look at boats.

Mykidstime website good for ideas too

Also dream wedding exhibition in leisureland... might be busy for parking but if you are staying in salthill then walk to ice rink or swimming and it shouldn't affect you. Have a great weekend.

Could try Pure Skill in Knocknacarra if they have any interest in sport and the weather isn't playing ball.
Seeing as you're based in Salthill, you have the Prom, and Silverstrand a little further out.

You have cars, so if you prefer the outdoors then Connemara is on your doorstep.
You could try Roundstone, Clifden, Ballynahinch Castle, Kylemore Abbey, Diamond Hill.

    Tons to do.

You can head out west along the coast seeing as you're in Salthill. Lovely country, loads of beaches.

Even just going for a wander around town is worth it. There's always some sort of street entertainment and there's some nice places along the river.

If the weather is decent and ye're in the mood for some outdoorsy stuff Eilemental activity centre in Furbo might be worth a look.

Just remembered- pantomime on at town hall theatre this weekend. Amateur production but very experienced producers and cast so well worth a look.
