Turas Nua want me to transfer to BTEA

I had an appointment with Turas Nua today and I told them about a recent medical diagnosis that will restrict the kind of employment I can take up. Advisor suggested I look at a website and pick out a course to do, and he'd transfer me back to DSP to go on BTEA. I've looked through the courses locally and there was only one I was interested in. I rang up about it and they said I'm too qualified to be considered for it. Where do I go from here? I'm presuming Turas Nua want rid of me because I'm going to be very difficult to find work for. Can they make me take on a course I have no interest in? Most of the courses I'd be suitable for are about a year long commitment and it seems like a waste of tax payers money when I really don't think I'd ever actually use them. I'm already qualified for the kind of work I can take up but have no experience and there's very few jobs going in the area at the moment.

If, because of medical reasons and your current qualifications, you are only really available for work in a particular niche area ( correct me if I'm wrong) then you would not be entitled to JSB.
You have to be available for full time work and while you won't be forced into something completely unsuitable, you can't either dictate the conditions under which you will be available.
What Turas Nua are telling you is, ok, you have this medical condition, and yes, there's not much doing in your qualification field, so, if you want to continue being eligible for a payment, you will have to get qualified in something else by going back to school and getting a different qualification.
They won't really let you say that there are no courses that your "interested".
My advice is that you find something yourself, if not a job that will keep body and soul together while you search for your ideal job, then a full time courses so you can be switched to BTEA.
If you don't cooperate with them then they will simply report back to SW that your not looking for work and SW will cut you off.

I didn't explain myself very clearly in my original post. Sorry about that. When I say I'm not interested in a course I mean because they're either in an area that I would be physically unable to work in or they're general skills that would be unnecessary for me to do a course in because I am already educated to degree level eg basic computer skills. I can only find one course that I would be eligible for that I could actually put to use. But Turas Nua actually found me a job in that area a few months ago and I didn't get past the training phase so academically I don't think I'd be able for that course.

I see. All I can tell you is that if you want to stay in a payment either JSA or BTEA it is quite simply a matter of you find something yourself or literally go to wherever they send you because, as countless will tell you here, and in my experience, they are like a dog with a bone and if they report back to SW that you are not engaging, SW will conclude that your not available for work and your payment will stop.
