Ensuite bathroom

Basically looking for what order things should be done

Our current ensuite bathroom is a reasonable size. However the previous owner thought it a great idea to put plastic wood effect panelling on the walls and wooden floors on floor. During the week , the ceiling underneath sprung a leak. We have established the water coming a hole in the panelling rather then from a hole in the drain pipe of the shower. We plan on redoing the whole room.

Plan is to take down the panelling from walls and ceiling (was on ceiling as well, we had a tiler in doing the kitchen and we showed him and he said never saw anything like it before and obviously advice it would have to be changed eventually). Take up floor.

Remove old sink and toilet. See if any plastering has to be done

Do we install new sink and toilet first or get it tiled first (we will be getting the walls and floor tiled)

    Thanks in advance

Assuming you're not changing the layout etc:

Plumber removes the old suite, temporarily block off the pipes (and if you're replacing the shower tray does that)
Then the tiler does his thing
Then the Plumber comes back to fit the new sink and toilet.
If fitting / replacing an electric shower, you will need an electrician too.

There are lots of companies offering bathroom fitouts where they have all the relevant trades on the books to do the various bits but make sure you use a reputable one as while there are many bathroom fitters, not all of them are qualified plumbers or tilers at all.

Same thing happened us and I went with a concrete sink, Bit more expensive but lovely job.

    Thanks for replies

    Have walls and ceiling stripped

Have to get shower tray out now , not sure whether to do that myself or get a plumber in to do it.
