Considering Buying Car in NI

    Hey folks, have €8-9k to work with and need a car. Not huge millage at the moment (about 7000 miles per year at moment) so looking at a petrol car and something with resonable space/economy but overall need something reliable. 

    I am looking at Ford Focus models and considering the 1.6 Zetec but doing some research this seems to be a bit underpowered and the best model is the 1 litre turbo which is nippy enough. 

    I am considering going up north. For instance the below car is £6k so if went for this I would hope to get for around £5.7k and VRT is about €1.4k. I then need to add on NCT (€55) and motor tax (€280 for this). Basically this works out at just over €8000 which seems decent.

    Any feedback on this would be great? Unsure of how to do it all. Basically do I try agree a deal before heading up or do I deal with them up there and drive off with the car? I want to try get a car sorted within the next few weeks. 

    Also any other recommendations for a car are welcome :)
