Hi looking at getting a ford focus van for my weekend work.
Looking at something second hand cheap and cheerful.
Anything to look out for when buying one.

    Mk1 - 1.8 diesel upto 2005
    Mk2 - 1.6 diesel from 2005 upto 2011
    Mk3 - 1.6 diesel from 2012 onwards

The Mk2 would be the least reliable of that bunch. The 1.6 diesel engine is very temperamental and doesn't take any abuse or neglect. If you're not sure what your looking at, then they are best avoided and look for something like a Corolla or Golf car van. The Toyota 1.4 D-4D or VW 1.9 TDi engines would be far more robust imo. Another one to consider would be the Kia Ceed/Pro'ceed van.

I was about to post pretty much what Bazz has said there.

Hyundai Accent 1.5 CRDI van is a little belter too.
