    Hi Guys,

I am newly engaged and looking out for Wedding Venues and could do with a little advice.

We will be getting married in dublin so would like the reception to be no further than an hours drive. We will have guests of close to 200ppl and We are looking for a venue that has a Marquee type Room, or county manor. Basically a reception room that is a little different than the usual hotel function room.

So far I have looked at Ballymagarvey, Tankarsstown and Ballybeg.. all of which I LOVE! But the prices at €115+ per head which is just, unfortunately too pricey for us.

Any suggestions of places to view that are slightly more reasonably priced?

    Thank you in advance

Clonabreany, Rathsallagh, Tinakilly and the Millhouse all spring to mind :) I'm not sure of prices and maximum numbers but worth looking them up even just for the fun of it :) Best of luck with the search!

MillHouse in Slane is good value if you're having a small wedding or an out of season wedding, we viewed it for ours and it is a really nice vintage style venue with some different options for food including BBQ. We didn't go for it becauses our date is in the middle of summer at peak season and their prices are a bit too much at that time.

Was at a wedding in Clonabreany last year, it was lovely I have to say! food was good service was good, to stay was pricey enough but not too crazy

Have a look at Segrave House Dunant Co Louth. Beautiful unique venue and very reasonably priced.

Congratulations.I'm a 2018 bride as well. I'm looking at country house hotels in Kildare and there is a few great places. Cliff at lyons and lexlip manor are worth a view.

You could also look at Barberstown Castle near Straffan, that's where we're getting married, its not exactly what your looking for but it is different and might be worth checking out.

I'm a photographer and visit a lot of venues and two of my favourites local to me are the Cliff at Lyons and Barberstown Castle. Not sure of the prices but definitely worth a look.

Trudder Lodge in Wicklow ticks a lot of your boxes OP but those type of venues will struggle with 200 guests I would have thought. Also Lisnavagh in Carlow might suit.
