    Howdy all!

What way does warranty stand servicing your vehicle outside the main dealer network? The car in question is a 2015 Audi but I'm sick of driving to the main dealer for service where as the local VW dealership is only 10 minutes away.

Would my warranty be void if I serviced it with Volkswagen? I asked before in Audi and of course I was told that my warranty would be null and void.

I'd say that as long as original Audi parts were used, correct oil & everything that was due to be done was done according to the Audi service schedule, that should be fine so VW could do the service without affecting the warranty, I'd want a detailed service report sheet though just to cover my ass, thought a number of years ago some EU reg came out to allow this

    Many years ago :)

EU block exemption, no manufacturer can make the mandatory 2 year warranty dependent on the servicing being done in their network, of course their scedule needs to be adhered to and documented, genuine parts and lubs etc etc.

Extended warranties can have other stipulations. The Audi 3 year warranty is beyond the mandatory 2 years but it's not an extended warranty, it is still the manufacturer's new car warranty.

There is only one exception to the block exemption rule and that is an Approved Used Car warranty. With an AUC warranty it is different to a new car warranty, the terms of the used car warranty can actually specify that you must take the car to an authorised dealer.

However for new car warranty the previous poster is correct, the new car warranty allows for the use of a suitably qualified garage and OEM or equivalent quality parts.

With extended warranties you can also use any garage that is VAT registered garage as long as the parts used are own or equivalent quality.

Your Audi probably shares the vast majority of its mechanical and electrical parts with the equivalent model of VW, I.e A3 and Golf.

As was mentioned below they can't void your warranty.
Having said that if you were to claim outside the warranty for good will they may not entertain a claim without a full Audi dealer history.
