More ANPR?

I have a suspicion that the lads may have more ANPR equipped cars recently. I've seen three traffic core cars sitting parked in the same direction as traffic flow in the last 2 weeks. One was sitting on a 'Garda only' motorway ramp, which is the first time I have ever seen one used.

I could be completely wrong though and they were all having a kip or eating garlic cheese chips.

There are more but not a huge amounts as i30 can't fit the equipment.

Old Mondeo/focus then new cars such as insignia and i40 along with BMW. Obviously few in between but along those lines

It's usual to see a Garda bike on the N7 inbound before J3. Sometimes there's more than one and they just sit on their bikes staring at traffic in the morning rush hour :) No radars or anything!

Really? I presume you're talking about the Cleartone screen on the front dash? Surely the equipment isn't that big over all. We're got massive amounts of kit into smaller cars.

Thursday night on the M11 southbound there was a traffic car well hidden, pointing with traffic flow. I thought it was waiting for speeders, but no. An SUV passed me a very short while later at, I would guess, about 145 - 150. No sign of a chaser and no stop further down the road. I suppose they might have been waiting for an ANPR ping.

Dash is too compact and struggles to fit radio and light equipment.

They are a small car but can be deceiving from the outside.
