Davanti Tyres

Anyone ever hear them or better yet fit them to the car? My Michelins will need replacing soon enough. I wasn't impressed with them tbh. Not a patch on the Avon they replaced. Hankooks are going well too. Just popped into the local tyre place and they were pushing the Davanti DX640 range in 225/45/R17 for €100 a corner.

People were recommending Blacklion before also as a very under rated brand. I've never fitted anything less than mid range before.

    You'd get Bridgestone T001 Turanza for €110 I reckon.

The Dananti might be fine but I wouldn't risk €400 on a recommendation from someone selling them. Presumably they have them in stock?

Tyrestop have premium 225 45 17s for €110 at the moment, dunno what brands.

    Also try these chaps https://www.firststop.ie/
They quote online not including fitting

At €100 a corner for those unknown brand they are doing you no favours.

Here are Uniroyal Rainsport 3 for €86 a corner:
    http://www.oponeo.ie/details-tyre/uniroyal-rainsport-3-225-45-r17-91-y-fr#127858533

or Hankook Ventus V12 for €79 a corner:
    http://www.oponeo.ie/details-tyre/hankook-ventus-v12-evo2-k120-225-45-r17-94-y-xl-mfs-zr#128230514

or Goodyear Eagle F1 for €96 a corner:
    http://www.oponeo.ie/details-tyre/goodyear-eagle-f1-asymmetric-3-225-45-r17-94-y-xl-fp#127912066

Surely taking into account the cost of getting these fitted locally, you will not be paying more than what you have been offered for €100 a corner?

Uniroyal rs3 are £49.50 on Camskills in that size at the min.

I got 2 before the Christmas for €130 including postage. Exchange rate was a bit better at the time though.

Edit: Avon zv7's are £50.85 might be of interest to ya.

@BA I ordered the Avon ZV7's in the 225/45/17 size and got them for a great price delivered from Camskill.

Did plenty of research and they came highly rated. Supposed to be a very quiet tyre and great levels of grip. I decided to try a different brand as I normally always go with GoodYear.

You won't be disappointed I have the zz5 on my car and the grip is top class

I'm sure your local tyre place will order you in what you want also.

I do both ,buy online and in the local place.
I always get the price of the tyres off oponeo and if my local place get within 20euro of the price per tyre I buy them off them.

    Reviews aren't too shabby

That said for €100 I'd be expecting a brand like those linked above.

I was quoted €120 for firestones on my 225/40/18s so no way would I be paying €100 a corner for a lesser known brand on 17s.

    Just me though. :)

Also have a good EU rating of C, B and 68db.

Whether you'd take it as gospel is another story.

Put goodyear efficient grips on it, you wont be sorry ;)

Might be a bit off topic but I was quoted €320 for 4 Bridgestone 225 45 r17 fitted and balanced.
Thought it was a decent price but when I checked the tires later they were actually lassa impetus revo 225 45 r17.
Now I did a bit of googling and they are kinda Bridgestone tires but not really. Is that a good price for 4 of them fitted?
Was a bit disappointed they weren't exactly what I asked for but are kinda Bridgestone but if that a good price i leave it.
Sorry if off topic, didn't want to open a new thread.

Just Buy the cheapest piece of plastic rubber available. And hope for best.

I'd not be happy, Lassa are a Bridgestone budget brand. If I was in your position and they'd fitted Firestone after telling me I was getting Bridgestone I'd be p1ssed off, not to mind Lassa.

Problem now is your old tyres have more than likely been binned and I'm sure the tyre fitter / shop are experts at being awkward.

Did you not look at the new tyres before you drove away

If it doesn't say Bridgestone on the side, they are not Bridgestone.

They are probably that price everywhere so it's probably not a bad price. The actual product though isn't at all what was promised :)

Not the OPs problem. They were quoted for Bridgestone and got a different brand. I'm sure people buying an Audi wouldn't be happy getting a Seat instead. The shop has to fit the Bridgestone or replace with similar tyres to what they arrived in with.

    Has to?
What if the tyre shop is awkward and not willing to? Small claims court?

Budget tyres cost around €65-75 not €100 s who ever is selling them is ripping you and other customers in a big way.

If your on a budget and want decent tyres then look for Imperial Eco-Sport tyres. I have them in 225/45/17 and paid €65 a corner 18 months ago. They have been excellent, good wet and dry grip, quiet and wearing very well. I have over 30k kms on them now(rotated them at 15k) and they're at roughly 55% worn now.

No was in a hurry and I stupidly trusted the shop. Have used them before a few times with no issues.

Away now so can't get back until Tuesday. Well gave a bit of mileage on them now.

That was a good price for 4 Lassas I stuck them on my own car earlier in the year and find them grand allthough I drive handy! No way will you get 4 Bridgestone for that money in your size..

Cheers for the replies guys. I'm afraid ordering tyres online is something that doesn't suit me due to work, space and time.

I just opted for Hankooks to be fitted at €90 a piece.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,364 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

That's not a bad price and probably not much savings there buying them online and then paying to have them fitted.

I do believe in shopping around when I'm at home down the country. I called around to a few places yesterday, 2 were to call back with prices, one did and wasbt taking the piss with prices and he got the business.
