Flue height

Hi all,

Quick on in relation to flue heights, is there a minimum requirement? Our neighbours did an extension last year and the flue is directly in line with out back two windows which are the kids rooms and when it's on there is a serious smell of smoke in their rooms.

I'm going to go in and have a chat with them and I suspect they will be fine about it but wondering if it comes to discussing heights with builder etc what are the rules?

can't remember right now, too much turkey...
You might consider sticking a CO monitor in the room near the window and see what it does.
If it goes off you have a serious case.
AKAIR, chimneys don't require planning and reg interpretation is more of an art form..

It looks like the outlet for chimney/flu pipe should be not less than 600mm above an adjoining building/building within 2.3m

G, while the numbers may be the same, your link seems to be to 2012 draft, mine is to 2014 actual which is what OP will need if there is a fight
