    06 Passat 1.9 tdi

As far as I'm aware it's a 5w/30 fully synthetic but open to correction on this?
Just want to have some in case of top ups. If anyone could point me to a decent oil I'd appreciate it. I've seen it in Halfords for around 25 for own brand stuff.
Micks garage have a kast brand for a good price (20ish on offer)but it no idea if it would suit.

    Any help appreciated.

If it's a PD engine you need a oil that meets the VW standard 505.01 which can be found in 5W40 and 5W30. If it's not PD engine then a VW 502.00 505.00 oil will do which is usually 10W40 but can be got in other weights. The newer engines with DPFs need 506.00/507.00 standard which is full synthetic. The older engine with more wear in it may use more oil at the lighter weights. If you have the manual it will be in there if not look up online with the engine code.
