Samsung A6 tablet

Hi all, but of advice needed. My mam got a Samsung A6 tablet for Xmas which she has managed to lock herself out of as she cannot remember the password she used and the reset function isn't helping her. We have tried factory reset but it keeps looking for gmail account the tablet is synced to.

PC world reckon it will cost 200 to sort between courier service and whatnot which is far too expensive.

Is my only option now at this stage to flash it with a new version of android or would it still look for the gmail sign in. Any help appreciated

if you have access to a pc or other device reset the google password on that using the forgot password option.
The password for the google account is specific to google not the tablet so once its reset it'll be right for the tablet.

Iv done that a few times and it doesn't seem to be working at all. It doesn't even tell you that the password you are using is incorrect, just keeps asking for the account that is synced with the tablet.
