It's all perspective isn't it? I could never stand Phoebe in Friends. I'm sure some people liked the character though.

Xmas special there was pretty funny. You may not find it funny but you can't say it's not funny. If that were the case it wouldn't have the following ot has.

Everybody Loves Raymond was absolute quality. Ray Ramono created and wrote a lot of it. His character's whininess was intrinsic to the whole dynamic between all the characters.

    Phobe
Jerry Seinfeld. Wierd as the show was full of hilarious character.

His role was just to react and comment on the madness aroundhim.

He's not a good actor at all and this was a particularly noticeable in the early seasons so getting him to do much more than what he did wouldn't have worked.

Hard to find an unfunny character in OFAH. Some deserved more than one episode like the singer in "It's Only Rock and Roll." :)

Ted in How I met your mother such an annoying and whingey git

Phoebe from Friends. Awful, just awful.
Rachel from the same show. Anyone as nastily materialistic as her is way beyond being amusing.
The Grandad in Mrs Brown. The gags around him are all a bit weird and borderline creepy.
Not sure if it counts as a sit-com but Lisa from The Simpsons.

Oh and this one will no doubt be unpopular but Jack from Father Ted.

Hand on heart, I have never even smiled at it, so for me it's not funny.

Chandler was one of the best comedic characters ever...at least up until he got with Monica..

    Joey from Friends.

First few seasons he was okay. After that, he became so f*cking stupid to the point of actual mental retardation.

He had this cult following. He was rarely funny due to him being way OTT stupid...

Ross and Chandler were without doubt the two naturally funny characters.

Exactly. Ray ramano was hilarious in that show. I think he was one of the highest paid tv actors in and around that era. That show won countless awards. Anyone who says ray ramano is not funny dosent appreciate comedy IMO.

    Kevin James

    King of Queens.

How this guy keeps getting cast in films is beyond me, when Adam Sandler takes a dump I'm pretty sure Kevin James goes for a swim.

Just watched it earlier and unlike Mrs Brown, the jokes were up to date and funny.

+1 for the cast of the Big Bang. Could never understand the appeal. When the OH said she liked it I had to have a moment to myself to reflect on my decisions... :P

Going back in time a bit, but Upwardly Mobile had to be the most un-funny thing ever produced. The entire cast were woeful, every "joke" laboured to the point where you could see it coming a mile off.

The two main characters from that late nineties sitcom, Gimme, Gimme, Gimme. Not funny, just annoying.

Kevin James for me too, anything he's in is rubbish.

^ I cannot describe how much I hate this unfunny crap.

Other special mentions for Jerry Seinfeld, Ray Romano, who I never found funny. And Charlie Sheen and the other lad in Two And A Half Men.. .

Ross and Chandler were without doubt the two naturally funny characters.

The Joey-Chandler relationship was the heart of that show for the first 4 seasons. When they separated them and put Chandler with Monica (a strong contender in this thread) the show fell apart.

Ross was not naturally funny, whiney little git who had a mental breakdown and complete personality change as a result of his tumultuous love life and managed to get himself into the most contrived situations. The Gellers are horrible, horrible, unfunny people.

Don't know if it counts as a sitcom but I hate every single character in Entourage. Fukcing d*ckheads, the lot of them.

The Big Bang is pure and utter puke....

As for Two and a Half men....For a while I thought I was the only person to think this programme sh1t....Glad I am not alone. Utterly horrendous.

It was good up till sheen left. Anything after that was manure. Should have finished that show when he went.

    Damo and Ivor .
Two unfunny muppets for the price of one.
Then again, being RTE they were probably both being paid !
