    Hi all,
I have a Revez nano combo S2/T2 box, for Free to air and saorview, using an aerial in the attic and an external dish. It uses three sources/settings; Eutelsat, DVB-T and All satellite.Lately, all of the RTE channels became intermittent in both picture and sound and then finally froze altogether so we are left with UK stations/European stations and no reliable RTE. Any suggestions?

    regards
    Stovepipe

Is the terrestrial tuner faulty? You able to validate the feed from the aerial?

Does discoonnecting the Sat cable make any difference, or can you plug the Aerial lead directly into TV as a test ?

Here's my reply from when you posted the same query a few weeks back:

It's possible the box has decided to retune itself, or at least reorder channels for some reason, & that's where the problem lies.

If Kippure is your preferred transmitter, it may at some point have picked up a weaker signal from say Mt. Leinster, & now this is at the top of the channel list. I don't think all boxes will keep the set of channels with the best signal, & discard inferior duplicates.

Can you bring up frequency info. on the box for the Saorview channels?

Did you ever manage to bring up the frequency info. (UHF channel no. or frequency in MHz or KHz) for the Saorview channels?

I really have no idea how to do that. The manual is patchy at best.

    Its under manual terrestrial scan.

Does pressing the info button a time or 2 not bring up frequency for the channel being viewed?

I'll have a look later and revert.

right so: for example, RTE one on DVB-T, transponder 5140/H/O, PID V2101/A2201/P8190; signal intensity 39%, signal quality 10%..........picture freezes or jitters soon after selection.....RTE 2, xpdr 4900/H/O, PID V1102/A1202/P8190, SI 80%, SQ 35%.......RTE News now;xpdr 4900/H/O; PID V1105/A1205/P8190, SI 40%, SQ 10%

the satellite is Eutelsat 28A and the aerial appears to face Mt leinster.

I'd suggest entering your location on this page below, delete the existing saorview channels from the channel list and then do a manual scan on the UHF channels indicated by the coverage checker , you should see signal and quality readings after a few seconds which may indicate what the problem might be be.

    So, 4900 & 5140 would be 490 & 514 MHz respectively, channels 23 & 26 as used by Mt. Leinster?

So that would be right assuming the aerial is actually pointing there. (Did you say in the other thread it's pointing at Kippure?)

From the orientation of our house, front facing NW, the aerial points SE towards Mt Leinster.

Right, so assuming you had a reliable signal from Mt. L. to begin with, you'll have to try & see if there's an identifiable cause for the decline.

Could be something obvious like an obstruction placed in front of the aerial, or maybe someone disturbed a connection in the attic, or at the receiver itself.
