Does anyone know if you can cold call into Micks Garage warehouse to exchange parts or do you have to go thru customer service?

Did you have a look at their returns page?
    www.micksgarage.com/about/returns.aspx

It seems you need to contact their CC team to get RMA number and then send the items back.
    Start by ringing them.

Yeah straight forward enough to do. I sent them an email and they gave me the return number. Show up with the part and labelled with return number. They might ask for ID so worth having some on you.

I was hoping I could cold call. I'll just have to get the correct pads locally and return thru the post. Pads are worn to the metal so I can't wait. My fault for not noticing the 2 types available! Thanks for replying.

They have an online chat area on their site, I've used it before to chat and then return an item to the premises and change it for alternative there and then.

I returned parts to Micks Garage but looks like they didn't check them in.
Basically getting the run around. Thankfully I have a tracked delivery.
I think they'll ask me to go to their warehouse next and look for the box with 1 hand tied behind my back while singing 'I did it my way'.
Not having a good experience with them this time.

You can bring them in without doing anything online.

I returned them thru parcel motel. Transaction was something like €30. Something like €4 postage 1st time plus €6.50 postage to return (none of which is refundable) so getting a lot of ****e over returning cheap parts! So have to keep at them to be out of pocket €10.50 or €36. I think I'll keep at them! Not my fault some arsehole didn't process the return properly!

I fitted a timing chain with the recommend oil specification, 10000 miles later it became noisy, i sent them a oil sample and all the old bits and it took 10 weeks to reach a conclusion, they had paper reports showing the oil was fine and the chain was tested etc and the report said inconclusive, I fitted a vag chain kit and is going strong after 45000miles, Their backup is terrible terrible terrible,

Dont buy anything from them by from your local motor factor instead where you will get advise to whats a good brand and or poor brand.

Mail order is a faceless business and seems to be cheap but long term is expensive.

    Stay away

If there's a speck of dirt on either the pads or the box they'll keep the returned item and tell you they aren't suitable for resale and keep your money too. Win win for Mick's Garage, I'll never deal with them again. Their stuff is cheap Chinese muck anyway, buy cheap you buy twice.
