They are based upon the mark 3 Ford mondeo sharing a huge amount of parts and major components thus are cheap enough to repair if things go wrong. I know the old 2.2 diesel engine was fond of flywheels and injectors but not sure on the 2l lump. If it is a ford 2l engine I don't think that a huge amount goes wrong in them.

2l has Dmf issues alright, diesel injectors and DMF both went on mine.

Outside of that its great. Parts are cheap, its comfortable to drive and ok on fuel too.

I think it was around 100 for the injectors and 120 for the dmf in my case.

There is no set time or mileage at which a DMF fails, unfortunately they are a wear and tear item on most modern diesel cars. The normal initial tell tail signs are a judder/vibration felt through the clutch pedal.

You'll know if its on its way though, clutch feels loose and funky, and there's a bad rattle.

Just buy an auto version instead. :pac:

I had a 2005 one for a few years and it was a great car. Good on fuel and cheap enough to maintain.

Only issue was the DMF, went at around 110k miles. Cost about €1,000 for LUK clutch and DMF kit, fitted by indie.
