It's rebranded Comma oil. Supposedly decent enough. It should perform well as long as it meets the required specs of your car!

Was reading this thinking that's not that cheap, bit confused. I bought 20l of Valvoline a few months ago and think it cost me 65 euro. Googled it to check and see but I'm guessing they had a deal on or made a mistake as everywhere selling that has it much more expensive. I just bought it in local AF and they don't have a retail website. Happy with that now :)

That sounds excellent for a "fully synthetic" 5wX oil.

Or not so excellent for mineral 15w40.

    Depends really.

Aw yes..... Makes more sense now!:)

Got a few of the 5w40 for use in my Megane DCi (No DPF) Oil says it meets RN 0715 standard which is the corrrect one. 4 litres is just about enough, the sump capacity is a bit more than 4.0 but you never get all the old stuff out.

I do around 60k kms per year and have been using halfords 5w40 for a number of years changing every 20k kms (car has about 325k kms on it) Using the discounted oil, a DIY oil and oil filter changes costs me about 21 quid. Drama free, cheap motoring.

Fair play, I love hearing about cars with lots of miles on them:)

You can run to Halfords but in Micks Garage you get 5 litres for €13.95

13.95 for mineral oil but not fully synthetic. Big difference.

I got some of the halfords oil there and a little 25 piece socket set. As I need some of the smaller sizes my old set was missing a few bits. Ahh new tools :).

Cheers. Picked up 3 x 4 liters of 5W40 synthetic for my Sprinter. The advertised 229.3 spec is perfect for the the old Frau Schmitz.

Bike, which is also due an oil change just about now, will be getting the balance of the same stuff. Officially the Japanese wet clutch bikes require 10W40 semisyn JASO-MA which this is not but it will work just fine based on the results from the past 120k on other similar bikes.

    I've an old Mitsubishi colt
    I normally use Castrol 10w40
Would the 10w40 do or would the fully synthetic be better again?

Chip pan oil would do in that yoke!!!:D

I remember there was some confusion as to whether the 5w30 conformed to BMW LL. I know it says it does on the website, but it doesn't (or didn't) say it on the bottle a few months ago.

I actually need to renew the oil in my chap pan if you want it for free :D

Halfords 10w40 should be no problem at all ;)

Did anybody get the Vauxhall 5w30? Is BMW LL01 on the label these days?
They were cleaned out of it when I eventually got to halfords, plenty 10w40 and 5w40 in Limerick though.

Yes picked some up, no BMW LL01 on it.

Odd thing is online it does specify a BMW spec on it
