    Hi,

I have been having car problems since the middle of November which has been caused by getting bad fuel in the Westport area. Has anyone elsa had any problems?

If you have then send me a pm with the name of the shop that you bought the diesel in. Dont go mentioning the shop name publicly though!

    Thanks

About a year or 2 ago it was fairly rampant, some newish cars engines completely destroyed, I thought it was all cleared up now.

A 08 ford focus. Car felt a bit rougher than usual than out of nowhere it lost all power. Brough it to a mechanic and he said it was bad diesel. I have a sample of the fuel kept and you can tell by looking at it that it is bad. Could you pm me the name of the place where you buy your diesel?

That was in Swinford. I was surprised myself but the mechanic said it was definitely bad fuel.

Did mechanic actually test the fuel or was it an educated guess?
Can you post a pic of the sample you have?

Get in touch with the head office for the garage branch and complain.

Sorry, was meant to reply to this ages ago but completely slipped my mind. Here is a photo of the diesel. He didn't do a test but said it is obvious by looking at it that it is bad quality. I know nothing about what it should look like myself.

As you suggested, I am going to ring the head office tomorrow. I did call into the shop but they stood by their diesel. My car has broke down twice since originally braking down. It looks like the fuel pump might now be broken.

I had the flash on on my phone so in reality the diesel is a bit darker than that in the photo.

Unless you can show that diesel coming out of their pump you won't get anywhere with them.

Only evidence that I have is that I use a company car so every diesel bought is paid for by credit card. The card statement clearly shows that my fuel is always bought from one station in particular except for the 2 times previous to when the car broke down.

Tbf still doesn't prove anything I always brought diesel from one particular place as it was cheaper and then one evening bought it from another. 2 of the injectors showed as blocked and I was asked, did I buy much from the 1st place as it had a rep for being hard on injectors. New fuel filter and something done to the injectors fixed it

True, it is worth a shot though. I only ever fill up at Topaz stations except on thise 2 bad occasions.
