Please rate your local attended car wash

Being on the road throughout the year, I am sometimes unable to wash the van myself meaning I have to use the local service wherever I find myself.

    I,ll start with;

-Blanchardstown, opp McDonalds good wash and dry great service *****
-NCR, Dublin 1, Chinese guy, good wash 2 bucket method + dry *****
-Swords Car Wash, Swords Manor Mall, very poor service, left dirty *
-Waterford, Ardkeen Centre, great wash and dry, excellent job *****

The carwash near the spawell is by far the best carwash I have ever used.
It is not cheap but the pull thru is great and the car is gleaming after it.

I think the worst list would be slightly longer.

Have to disagree I'm afraid, was there recently and wasn't overly impressed with the job. Also no dry on offer which is what I'm looking for at the min. I may have caught them on an off day though and was surprised as it is recommended around Waterford.

Iv ordered a few microfiber mitts so maybe in future I'll give the car a quick dry myself after a wash.

Will keep an eye on this thread for any other recommendations around Waterford, if anyone has an opinions let me know.

Only used one as was desperate short on time. Hand wash with decent mitts and pressure wash though.

    Tesco, Wilton shopping centre, Cork.

Can add Elite in Blanchardstown to that list as well. They always do a great job in there! :)

I find these guys not too bad (I say not too bad as they probably aren't candidates for the best carwash in Ireland)

Use mitts etc etc and what seems to be a decent snow foam type treatment prior to the actual wash.

    Free coffee too :)

But......that's a automated machine wash isn't it?

I use place on Nutgrove Avenue D14, brilliant handwash for €8.

    Elite Auto Clean
    Spirit Detailing
    Foxhole Norman
    MX Valeting

Also doing it yourself with the right equipment is always 100% better than a brush wash no matter where or what kind it is.

City centre? What is H2O like in St. Stephen's Green for example?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,377 ✭✭✭Curran

    No-H2O you mean?

They use a waterless (or almost totally waterless) wash method - fine if the car is very lightly soiled with dust or similar. Far from ideal if they car is heavily soiled...you'll hardly be getting a wash if its just lightly soiled.
People will say that waterless washing is fine - plenty of debate on the internet of the pros and cons, but I'd do plenty of research before deciding. Your paintwork might be happier if you didnt use waterless washing.

wouldn't use it myself TBH, plenty of options around for decent handwash for tenner, using mitt rather than brush.
