Hi, I've just received a text message from BOI using the number 086 180 0531 asking to confirm if some recent debit card transactions were genuine. It gave me a case number.
Is this genuine or is it a phishing scam?

Thanks. Googled the number as you suggested. Seems legit. Thanks dobsdave.

    Hi con71,

Thank you for getting in touch with us here.

Our security team will from time to time text or call customers to confirm transactions on their account. When you receive a text, our team would never ask for account numbers or passwords or to click a link. They will only ask to you to respond to confirm Yes or No.

If you are in anyway unsure of the validity of any correspondence, you can call the number on the back of your card and a verified rep will be happy to look into this for you.

    Thanks and Happy Christmas,

    Elaine
