Hot Water issue

    hi all

Hopefully some out there can help me. I recently had to bleed the water tank in the attic as I had on/off valve issues so they had to be replaced. Upon refilling the system I had no hot water. This was resolved by using the mixer tap on the bath.

Since then when I run the hot water tap on the bath I get about 30 seconds of hot water and then it turns cold, if I turn off the hot tap and wait for a minute I get hot water again instantly followed by cold water.

Just wondering if anyone has had this kind of issue before.

    Thanks in advance
    Darren

You need to use mains pressure cold, so kitchen mixer or outside tap to a hot tap.

Yes that's how I got rid of the airlock, by using hose from outside tap to mixer tap on bath.

Did you just open the hot end of the mixer?

Just open the one that's giving trouble, the hot one in your case. Have someone listen to hear the water gurgling back into the tank in the attic.

does the water flow slow or stop?

is it possible the vent/expansion pipe from the hot cylinder has fallen into/below the water level in the attic tank, if this happens the cld water can be drawn back down the vent pipe to the tap

    Hi TPM,

sorry only replying now, the expansion pipe had fallen into the tank. The hot water is running fine now . Thanks again for your help and sorry about the delayed reply.:):)
