Possible to change the date of a flight?

I'm not an experienced flier and I've never had this issue before, but I gotta change the date of my flight. I'm meant to go late next month but I need to delay it by a week or so. Will Aer Lingus do this for me? I'll ring back when they're open but I'm nervous that I've completely f*cked up.

    Cheers.

Pretty sure they'll have to stick to their schedule. Not sure they'd be willing to put all the other passengers out.

They might put you on a different flight though if you ask nicely.

Yes you can change the date. They charge a fee for it and you must also pay the balance if new flight is more expensive.

I knew the dangers of asking this here.

The "changing your booking" bit of the Aer Lingus website deals with this...40 to 100 euros...

I've had to change flights where the cost of changing the date was more than the flight had cost and that is often the case with low cost carriers.
Might be cheaper just not to take that flight and book another.

I still think looking up the link on the Aer Lingus website that outlines how it is done and says the handling costs are between 40 and 100 euros might be less drastic than forgetting about the first flight and booking a whole new one.

Worth checking of course. Recently I had a couple I had to change.
Once flight cost me 60€ The price to change the date was 90€ so I'm down money before I even book the new date.

Depends on the class of ticket that you hold. As a general rule, the less you paid for the ticket, the more they will charge you to change it. You won't get a clear answer on what it will cost you to change this ticket until you ring and ask them.

Why not simply try to change the date on the website and see how much they want?

They won't charge you unless you agree to it.

Do you need a physical copy of your ticket these days? I'm going to a non EU country this weekend and can't remember what the story is.
