    Hi folks
I'm useless with cameras. I have a picture on my phone of a woman and baby that I want to get put on canvas. Its too low resolution to work. Is there any way of editing it to fix it?

Highly unlikely. If it's too low resolution, then you can use software (like Photoshop) to enlarge it, but then photoshop has to guess and make stuff up, that it thinks should go there. You can end up making the image look terrible. And then when it goes on canvas it will look worse still.

Ah that's a pity. I guess I will have to forget about it

    What is the image size?

Just because it's on a low resolution screen the file may be OK.

    File size 37.12kb.
I now know that's too small

Did you take the photo or someone else?

chances are they have a higher res version; if it's taken on a smartphone, the original file size is probably a few orders of magnitude bigger.

At the risk of stating the obvious - if taken on an iPhone the original image may well be in their photostream or equivalent for android. It actually takes effort to lose photos taken on smartphones these days so may well be there in the cloud!

WhatsApp compresses the photo. For instance i took a photo with my phone earlier and sent it to my wife over WhatsApp.
The original filesize was 3.02MB with res of 4640x2610
The received file was 247KB with res of 1600x900

Get the person to email it or send by Bluetooth
