I'm looking at a 2012-2013 Qashqai +2, straight purchase, is there better value to be had now pre Xmas or should I wait until the new year.
I need to be on the road again in something for the 2nd week in January?

I'd say buy now, they will want the forecourt cleared of stock for the trade ins they will be flooded with next month.

I'd be the other way. You'll have more choice.

Do dealers work to end of year figures? and if so is their end of year Dec?

you'd be in a better position now if that's the case.

Dealers don't suddenly drop their prices on 1st Jan.

No but the car becomes one year older on the 1st so does that affect the price?

Dealers tend to drop used prices around November to shift used stock before they take more trade ins come January. There is no written rule that they must do it again on Jan 2nd. With alot of PCP 3 year old cars starting to come back in the first quarter of 2017 I'd try and wait, you'll have a better choice in cars along with dealers being a bit more eager to shift them then.

Value wise I dont think there much difference really. I'm sure alot of stock doesn't get shifted until 2/3rd week in Jan and I will need the 6 seats by mid Jan at the latest.!
