Has anyone ever used the Lim bull Usse from Eurogene. He is rated at 11kg of milk at 62% reliability. That's unreal in my eyes he has good terminal rating aswell at index 128 and a carcass weight of 27 kg. The only thing I don't like is his daughters calfing difficulty of 9.02% which is very high for some reason. I am a big fan of the Lim but milk is very rare. Has anyone any daughter off him that have calfed down

Unfortunately unless a figure for daughters milk has a reliability of 97% or more it can't be relied on. Even then these figures are pretty dodgy in lots of cases.

In August 2015 HCA had a milk figure of 8.99 at 85%, May 2016 6.27 at 92% and August 2016 4.2 at 97%. He had a milk figure of 12/13 before August 2015.

I've given up using Limousin Bulls to try and improve milk, it's a waste of time.
Started using Simmentals, probably won't work either:pac:

Personally I'd rather use LM for short gestation & calving ease

Sadly most do, UBY, ABI, FZM are much the same.
Intend using Jet, Jester & Ifor this year & Hussac on a light dairy cross

Ah yeah KJB, another one that ICBF reckoned was going to be the perfect bull.
Nice shapey calves but gestation length is the worst i've ever seen and he must have some kind of a dwarfism gene, some calves stay small.
How are his calves doing for you?

The bulls are savage and had one heifer that's a runt.
I ended up culling my best cow because of him. We had to enduce her in the there was no immediate signs of calfing. She came a Huge calf we barely got out retained the cleanings got a big infection could not get her back in calf. I would never ever touch him again

That was unfortunate, even tho his gestation was very long i never had any bother calving him. Have a couple of runts off him and wouldn't take his straws if they were free.

USSE should be worth a go, there's no high reliability, high milk limousin bulls out there at the moment.
PG have a new bull called Doudou as a replacement for HCA, not suitable for heifers apparently tho. Of course they're using the Genomics scheme as an excuse to charge €22 a straw for him.

I have a kjb heifer that is fierce low in the front. A friend of mine sold his KJB heifers for the same reason. I thought it was just an one off but obviously it's not. Have a blue cow carrying a bull to him so that could be interesting at calving.

I have a bull out of a Lim bull called procters cavalier and has better figures than dodou from progressive genetics. The only thing he is light is obviously reliability and his milk is slightly lower at 4.87kg. He is super bull my only problem with him is i want use ai on all early calfers to avoid crisscrossing the gènes. I want to hold on to him as long as I can as he is super bull and quite as a lamb. But I still don't trust him
