Special Needs Subbing unqualified rate

    Hey guys,

I'm currently subbing in a special needs school and loving it. However, their teacher is coming back and I'm back out on my arse.

Currently go two job offers and a meet up with a principal on Friday.

Today I got the job offer for my first preference as it's nearer to home so no toll and less petrol. Here's the problem though. The students are primary level (the school caters to both) and I was looking for secondary as I'm secondary trained.

I don't know if the school know or care but I reckon I won't get paid the qualified rate as the students are primary level. I reckon I was given the class as I have quite a bit of experience with ASD students and it's an ASD class.

As for the other school they cater for both and never clarified whether the students are primary or secondary. I only know this can be an issue as the class I currently teach has ages from 8 - 16 and I only got the qualified rate because of one student.

Any ideas what I should do? I'm not even sure what the wage difference would be so if someone could clarify that for me too that'd be great. Graduated in 2010 and am on the crap payscale.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mendoza
