Chromecast & surround sound system

    Hi all.

    I have a Sony Home theatre system. It has one HDMI output which I have connected to the TV. The HTS is ARC compatible. The surround sound works for the tv and for DVD player but not the chrome cast. I have the chrome cast connected directly to the tv and I get picture but no sound if the surround sound is turned on. If I turn the surround sound off I get both sound and picture but not through the surround sound.

    Any ideas on how to get the chromecast to work with the surround sound.

    Arc on some TVs is only a trigger to switch everything on. Try runing an optical cable from the TV to receiver, that way any sound from the TV will be sent to it.
