2012 Audi A4 clutch pedal sticking

    Hi all,

Hoping someone might be able to shed a bit of light here. A family member has a 2012 Audi A4 with 95k miles on the clock. I took it out today for a spin and noticed some bad issues with the clutch.

When pulling out of the driveway I had to give it serious welly just to get moving, then noticed that the revs were going up but no speed. Then the clutch kind of popped up (just a tiny bit) and the car pulled away. This happened then every time when changing gear. Press the clutch, move into gear, release the clutch and the car revs but little to no power to the wheels. A second or two later the clutch pedal pops up fully and the car moves on with no issue.

The pedal seems to be sticking just shy of the top of the return point, then pops in. It's not sticking to the floor or anything like that. I know that there are known issues with the dual mass flywheel on these cars but I'm not convinced that's the problem here.

I just don't want her to be shafted by some mechanic saying that the whole clutch needs doing, costing €1k+ if the problem is something much simpler. Anyone have any ideas?

Just checked that but they're OK. Not a bad shout at all that would have been the cheapest fix ever!
