    Hi folks, can someone advise, if I am a new farmer can avail of BPS? CAP?
    Do I need a Green Cert? What is the story with entitlements? Any help / advice appreciated!

    Think Green Cert is required

    You need entitlements to get BPS.1 entitlement is required to go along with 1 hectare actively farmed. Depending on your location you may get ANC for your farm which is s different scheme but that's capped at E3400 for 34 Ha. Unless you are on an island.

    There is a possibility that under cap that the national reserve is to reopen in 2017. If so and if largely similar to NR 2015 then you will need to earn less than 40k in 15 or 16, be a new entrant to farming and either have commenced or be enrolled to do green cert.. If success ful you will get entitlements of e267 up to max of 90ha, if under 40 get 25top up of 68.45 on first 50 ha will bring the first 50 up to E334 for 17,18 and 19.

    Good luck with it only advice i have for you I if going NR route , beg borrow or steal to get as much land into your bps for 17 as you can as only one crack at national reserve pot!
